Trio of Performance Marine Group Sponsored Athletes head to Qingdao for ILCA World Championships

2nd May, 2025

Performance Marine Group (PMG), a global leader in high-performance boating, proudly announces that three of its sponsored sailors - Arthur Farley (UK), Healy Ryan (Australia), and Sylvie Stannage (Australia) - will compete in the 2025 ILCA 7 Men’s and ILCA 6 Women’s World Championships, taking place in Qingdao, China, from 10 to 17 May 10, 2025.

Hosted in the iconic sailing city that welcomed the world during the 2008 Olympic Games, the ILCA World Championships are among the most prestigious events in competitive sailing. All three athletes will compete in Olympic-class ILCA dinghies - expertly built by Performance Sailcraft, PMG’s world-renowned sailing division.

Arthur Farley, representing Great Britain, has captured global attention for his determination and grit. Despite a cancer diagnosis, Farley continues to perform at the sport’s highest levels.

Arthur said: “PMG has been a great supporter of mine all through my battle with cancer. The Worlds in China will be my biggest challenge so far in my sailing career and I’m very proud to represent Great Britain and PMG at this most prestigious event.”

Australian prodigy Healy Ryan, just 16 years old, enters the ILCA 7 World Championships as one of the youngest competitors in the fleet. The 2024 NSW/ACT Youth Sailor of the Year, Ryan’s rapid ascent is powered by unmatched focus and natural racing instinct.

Sylvie Stannage, representing Australia in the ILCA 6 division, is a standout athlete known for her raw speed, technical skills and determination on the water. Her exciting results at the Palma and Hyeres Sailing Grand Slams this season, sailing a PMG ILCA, mark her as an emerging athlete to watch in the incredibly competitive ILCA 6 Fleet.

Sylvie said: “It’s always been important to me to support the local boat building industry, so since I joined the class in 2017, I’ve sailed Australian-built Performance Sailcraft ILCAs. This year in Europe, I’ve raced my Performance Sailcraft ILCA at the Sailing Grand Slams in Palma and Hyeres, achieving personal bests in each regatta.

“I hope to carry this recent run of form through to the ILCA6 Worlds in China. The confidence I have using world-class equipment allows me to perform at my best as I work hard to reach the top in the highly competitive ILCA 6 class.”

Nick Ogden, owner of Performance Marine Group, added: “We’re incredibly proud to support Arthur, Healy, and Sylvie as they take on the world stage. These athletes exemplify everything PMG stands for - grit, innovation, and an unwavering pursuit of excellence. We don’t just build boats; we build futures in marine sport."
